He hadn’t noticed it at first. It was early morning and that meant practice. It also meant that he and Bolin would spend a good ten minutes waiting around the gym for their new teammate to show up, although how long it would take her to get to here from Air Temple Island was always up in the air, Korra seemed to come and go as she pleased.

Note: I wrote this in basically the span of one day and have been writing most of it for the past 8-9 hours so if there are any mistakes in here sorry but I have been writing for 8-9 hours so you’ll just have to live with it.

Mako leans against the railing of the old steamship as it chugs along, a towering pillar of black smoke rising from it’s spout. The sea air is warm, blowing against his face and he glances down to the water below, watching the waves shimmer and blur as they press their journey forward. They’ve been out on the water for a few days now, he’s beginning to loose count on just how many it’s been. But he knows they’ll be there soon; he asked the captain about it earlier. All he has to do is wait for the ship to ring it’s horn, slow it’s engines and dock. It’s as simple as that.

“There you are.”

He turns at the voice in an instant, standing straighter at the rail as she places an elbow on it, sinking lazily into the metal. She flashes him with a grin, nudging his arm lightly. “Been looking for you.”

Thanks for a Great 6 Months!

I doubt many of you are aware of this, but today is be-the-peaf’s sixth month anniversary! To the exact date! A lot has happened over these last six months, and I couldn’t be any prouder of how much this group has grown since then. You guys have helped me grow and learn so much as a writer and a graphic-maker, I don’t even know where I would be if not for all your hard work and amazing personalities. 

It’s been quiet a ride since we began (we had no idea what we were doing), but we’ve made it work, somehow. And now, here we are: 6 months later with almost 20 members and over 100 fics in our archive - it’s quiet an accomplishment to all of you. Bravo.

So I’d just like to take this time to express my gratitude to all of our members, both new and old and gone, as well as all the followers of the peaf blog. We wouldn’t have gotten this far if not for your support.

So thank you for an amazing six months!
